چکیده

Multifunctional materials and devices with captivating properties can be assembled from cellulose cellulose-based composite combining functionality structural performance. Cellulose is one of the most abundant renewable properties, such as mechanical robustness, biocompatibility, biodegradability. a low-cost biodegradable resource, CO2 neutral, wide variety fibers available all over world. Over thousands years, nature has perfected according to their needs, function vs. structure. Mimicking molecular structures at nano-, micro-, macroscales existing in great strategy produce synthetic active materials. A concise background its organization, well nomenclature nanomaterials, are first addressed. Key examples nature-designed unique characteristics, “eternal” coloration water-induced movement presented. The production biomimetic fiber 2D fiber-based cellulosic that have attracted significant attention within scientific community represented. Nature-inspired focus on response an external stimulus reported. Some 3D-printed bioinspired, reported recently literature, Finally, printed morph 1D strand or surface into 3D shape, stimulus, purpose this review discuss recent developments field “nature-inspired” regarding design, manufacturing, inspirational sources feature tendencies.

A 2d Inspired 4d Theory of Gravity

Coadjoint orbits of the Virasoro and Kac-Moody algebras provide geometric actions for matter coupled to gravity and gauge fields in two dimensions. However, the Gauss' law constraints that arise from these actions are not necessarily endemic to two-dimensional topologies. Indeed the constraints associated with Yang-Mills naturally arise from the coadjoint orbit construction of the WZW model. On...

Advances in radiotherapy: from 2D to 4D

Imaging techniques are increasingly integrated into modern radiotherapy (RT). Multimodal imaging is used to define the target for RT planning and imaging technology is also being integrated into linear accelerators, with the purpose to ensure delivery of radiation with high geometric accuracy. The integration of imaging in RT calls for a stronger collaboration between diagnostic radiologists an...

Direct 4D printing via active composite materials

We describe an approach to print composite polymers in high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) architectures that can be rapidly transformed to a new permanent configuration directly by heating. The permanent shape of a component results from the programmed time evolution of the printed shape upon heating via the design of the architecture and process parameters of a composite consisting of a gl...

Cellulose-based materials

Cellulose represents the most abundant renewable and biodegradable polymeric material on earth. Due to its low cost and functional versatility, cellulose has been a key feedstock for the production of chemicals with various properties and applications over the past century. In 2000, the world produces 187 million tons of wood pulp annually. Most of it is used as raw material in the production o...
